TAKE ACTION

AskUsWhy.com is dedicated to educating the public about the cruelty and fraud inherent in the use of animals in experimentation, a practice known as VIVISECTION.

This site explains why vivisection should be exposed, eradicated and replaced. Here you will learn that vivisection is not only inherently cruel; but it has not contributed to the advancement of science nor has it benefited human health. On the contrary, reliance on the results of animal testing has caused human illness and death.

We invite you to read on. Learn how and why the ancient, outmoded practice of vivisection continues to delay scientific and medical advances in our highly technological and advanced world. Learn how the animal model can be replaced immediately. Learn how we can stop the daily horror of pain, suffering and death animals endure. Learn how we can achieve scientific and medical advances through the use of accurate, progressive and humane methodologies.

By opposing vivisection and promoting humane and valid research, we advocate for the health and well-being of humans and animals alike. It is not a question of “your child or your dog.” Advancement of medical and scientific research is not dependent upon the animal model, but hindered by it.

These sentiments are not new. In fact, the anti-vivisection movement dates back to the 18th century; when medical professionals and lay persons alike began fiercely opposing the use of animals in experimentation on moral and scientific grounds.

This site is sponsored by New Jersey Animal Rights Alliance (NJARA). Established in 1983, NJARA is a community based, non-profit, educational organization, working toward a peaceful, nonviolent co-existence with our earthly companions, both human and nonhuman. Through our programs of promoting responsible science, ethical consumerism, and environmentalism, we advocate changes that greatly enhance the quality of life for animals and people, and protect the earth.
